We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tool and Die Maker to join our team. The Tool and Die Maker will be responsible for creating and maintaining precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in the manufacturing process. Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine requirements.
- Set up and operate various machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM machines, to create precision components.
- Design and build precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures using a variety of materials, including metals, plastics, and composite materials.
- Assemble, fit, and adjust parts to create finished tools and dies.
- Test completed tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures to ensure proper functionality and accuracy.
- Repair and maintain existing tools, dies, and fixtures to ensure longevity and efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and other team members to optimize tool and die designs and manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tool and die performance and quality.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in tool and die making.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or technical school training in tool and die making is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker in a manufacturing or machining environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques, materials, and precision measurement instruments.
- Ability to set up and operate various machine tools with precision and accuracy.
- Skilled in using CAD/CAM software for tool and die design (optional but advantageous).
- Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.

- Inspect and test final products
- Set up and operate electrical discharge machines (EDM)
- Lay out, shape and assemble patterns of metal, wood, plastic and other materials from blueprints, models or templates
- Position, secure, measure and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining
- Set up, operate and maintain a variety of conventional and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools
