Responsibilities:
- Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces by cleaning, smoothing, and ensuring they are free from debris, dust, or imperfections.
- Mixing Materials: Mix plaster, stucco, or other finishing materials according to the specific project requirements.
- Application: Apply plaster or finishing materials to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using hand tools, trowels, and brushes, ensuring even coverage.
- Texturing: Create decorative textures, patterns, and designs as specified in the project plans or as requested by clients.
- Repairs: Repair and restore damaged plaster surfaces by patching holes, cracks, or imperfections.
- Quality Control: Ensure that plastered surfaces are level, smooth, and meet established quality standards.
- Cleanliness: Keep work areas clean and organized, including the proper storage and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Safety: Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
- Communication: Collaborate with contractors, builders, and clients to understand project requirements and address any concerns or changes.
- Estimates: Provide estimates for materials and labor costs for plastering projects.

Tasks
- Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
- Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster
- Clean and prepare surfaces
- Cure freshly plastered surfaces
- Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
- Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required
- Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
- Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
- Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
- Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms
