Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that stimulate children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued, and respected.
- Observe and assess children’s behavior, progress, and needs, and maintain accurate records of their development.
- Collaborate with other educators and professionals to create individualized learning plans for children with special needs or unique requirements.
- Provide guidance and support in daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and toileting.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues to promote open communication and a supportive community.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about their child’s progress, achievements, and areas for development.

- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
- Establish guidelines for behaviour
- Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
