Tension In Kano As Bulldozers Head To Bayero's Palace To Demolish It Amid Heavy Security

Heavy security is currently in place around Nasarawa Palace, the former residence of the deposed 15th emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero.

Earlier reports from indicated that the Kano State Government had ordered the eviction of the deposed Emir. Kano State’s Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Haruna Isah Dederi, addressed journalists on Thursday evening, stating that Bayero should vacate the palace to facilitate its reconstruction and renovation.

Video clip seen on Friday morning showed security personnel blocking all entrances to the palace, which is owned by the Kano State Government. This measure aims to prevent any disruption by miscreants during the planned demolition of Nasarawa Palace. Another video captured a bulldozer and excavator en route to the palace.

Despite a Federal High Court ruling in Kano nullifying the removal of Emir Bayero and others by the State Government, Kano authorities maintain that Emir Sanusi Muhammad II remains the legitimate emir of Kano.
