Tension As Defence Chief Vows That Ekpa Who Declared Himself IPOB Prime Minister Must Be Arrested, Dealt With

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has vowed that a self-proclaimed Prime Minister of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Simom Ekpa must be apprehended and dealt with.

Musa also accused Finland of protecting Simon Ekpa who is based in the country while carrying out his illegal activities.

During a special Channels Television broadcast to mark Nigeria’s 25th Democracy Day in Abuja, Musa criticized the activities of IPOB in the South-East and demanded Ekpa’s arrest and prosecution.

The CDS called on the Nigerian government to take decisive action, including exploring diplomatic avenues to address the issue posed by the factional leader of IPOB.

“We have repeatedly raised concerns about Simon Ekpa. He is in Finland, and the Finnish Government is providing him with support, enabling his actions,” Musa stated.

“His comments are inciting violence, leading to deaths, and nothing is being done. This is a democracy. If the European Union supports democracy but allows this to happen without taking action, it suggests they do not have Nigeria’s best interests at heart.

“We need to find diplomatic means to stop his activities. He must be arrested and prosecuted.

“Consider if the situation were reversed, with someone in Nigeria inciting violence against the Finnish government. The European Union would not tolerate it. They would certainly take action,” Musa emphasized.
