The music icon’s family confirmed her death to ‘RTE’ on Wednesday. ‘It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad,’ the family said in their statement. ‘Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.’ The Irish singer and activist released multiple award-winning records and singles in the ’90s, including the chart-topper ‘Nothing Compares 2 U.’ Sinead is survived by her three children.
