Panic As Popular Int’nal Footballer Collapses, Dies In The Field

A popular international footballer has passed away after collapsing during a match.

Raphael Dwamena, a player for KF Egnatia, has tragically dies at the age of 28, as reported by the UK Mirror.

The former Ghanaian international suffered a fatal heart attack during a match against Partizani Tirana on Saturday, leading to the abandonment of the game in the 23rd minute.

Efforts by medical staff to resuscitate Dwamena on the field were unfortunately unsuccessful. He was swiftly transported to the nearest hospital in Kavaja, where, despite their best efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, succumbing to heart attack.

Dwamena’s heart condition first came to light in 2017 when a defect was discovered. In October 2021, he had an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) fitted after collapsing during an Austrian Cup match. The untimely death of this talented footballer has left the sports community mourning the loss of a promising athlete.
