“I Had Eight Men As Husbands and Had Three Children – Freed Chibok girl

Ihyi Abdul kidnapped girl by Boko Haram terrorists in Chibok, Borno State in April 2014 spoke of how she was married to eight Boko Haram men and had three children.

Speaking in an interview with Daily Trust, Ihyi revealed that during her captivity, she had eight Boko Haram men as husbands and had three children through them.

She disclosed that after she escaped from captivity, she traveled for days on foot before reaching a military checkpoint in Nigeria, where she and her children were taken in for safety.

She said that not all the Chibok girls were in the same location. She said some were still in captivity, while others, like her, managed to escape.

Regarding her education, Ihyi said : “I am not sure if I will able to continue with education”. .

In her words: “I married eight (Boko Haram) men and gave birth to three children for different husbands. I did not escape all the while because I did not want to escape earlier until now. We the Chibok girls are not kept in the same camp, and I don’t know why they are still in captivity but those of us have chosen to remain in Sambisa, while others have not had the chance to escape. As for education, I cannot say anything for now but am not sure I can continue with education”
