Responsibilities:
- Daily Feeding: Provide appropriate feed and water to the animals, ensuring a balanced and nutritious diet according to their age, size, and specific nutritional requirements.
- Health Monitoring: Regularly observe animals for signs of illness, injury, or distress. Administer necessary medications or treatments as prescribed by a veterinarian.
- Herd Management: Oversee breeding, calving/lambing/kidding, and weaning processes. Maintain accurate records of births, deaths, vaccinations, and other important herd information.
- Shelter and Environment: Ensure animals have access to clean and comfortable shelter and a suitable environment that meets their needs for protection from adverse weather conditions.
- Pasture Management: Rotate animals to different grazing areas to prevent overgrazing and maintain pasture health. Implement strategies for optimal land utilization.
- Reproduction Management: Monitor and manage breeding cycles, estrus detection, artificial insemination, and pregnancy checks.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair equipment used for feeding, watering, and handling animals.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of herd health, production, and other relevant data. Utilize technology and software for efficient record management.
