Bode George, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has criticized President Bola Tinubu for the deteriorating economic conditions in Nigeria.

George highlighted that despite the government’s promises and declarations about mitigating the harsh economic climate, Nigerians are yet to experience any relief.

Speaking on Channels Television on Monday, the former military Governor of Ondo State emphasized that every segment of society, from the wealthiest to the poorest, is grappling with the challenges brought about by the Tinubu administration’s policies, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the naira.

George asserted that Nigerians need tangible results rather than mere promises, arguing that the current economic policies seem like they will take an eternity to yield positive outcomes. He urged President Tinubu to hold the leaders of Nigeria’s top banks accountable for their role in the economic mismanagement, instead of appointing them to manage or advise on the economy they have contributed to destabilizing.

He concluded by stating that the one-year grace period given to President Tinubu to assess the country’s situation has ended, and what is now required are concrete results.
