The Economic and Financial Crime Commission has revealed the evidence against Naira Marley is why they’re still holding on to him.
Following the release of Zlatan Ibile on Tuesday night, 14th of May, EFCC has granted a statement to Premium Times on why they’re keeping Naira Marley with them.
According to the statement, the spokesperson for EFCC, Tony Orilade revealed that the evidence found against Naira Marley is overwhelming hence he cannot be granted the same administrative bail that was given to Zlatan, Tiamiu Abdulrahman Kayode, Adewunmi Adeyanju Moses, and Abubakar Musa.
The spokesman stated that although Zlatan and the three others were bailed, they haven’t been fully discharged and acquainted. And for Naira Marley, he’ll have to remain in their custody as he’ll be charged to court soon.
“There is overwhelming evidence against Naira Marley; so we can’t afford to release him on administrative bail like Zlatan and the three others. That Zlatan has been released does not mean they have been discharged and acquitted. Naira Marley is still in our custody and will be charged to court soon and we will make the charges known in an official statement soon.”
