BREAKING: Saraki’s Mother Falls Into Coma, Dies

Madam Florence Morenike Saraki has passed away at 89 years.

She was the mother of former Senate President, Bukola Saraki

Reports indicate that the octogenarian fell into a coma and was subsequently rushed to an undisclosed hospital in Lagos State due to age-related ailments.

Members of the Saraki family, who preferred to remain anonymous, confirmed the news to Daily Trust on the issue. One source revealed, “The incident happened this evening when Mama went into a coma and was rushed to the hospital in Lagos State. She was later placed in the intensive care unit (ICU) before she died. Saraki was informed about it in Ilorin and he left about two hours ago with his wife following the incident.”

The late Florence was the widow of Olusola Saraki, a prominent Senator during the Second Nigerian Republic and a political figure in Kwara until his death in 2012.

Besides Bukola Saraki, the late matriarch, who celebrated her 87th birthday in 2022, is survived by her other children: former Minister of State for Transport Gbemisola Saraki, Tope Saraki-Edu, and Laolu Saraki.
