BREAKING: People Die Under The Rubble As Another Building Collapses In Lagos

Three people have been confirmed dead following the collapse of a building at 13 Wilson Mba Street, Arowojobe Estate, Maryland, Lagos State.

The incident occurred early Thursday morning.  According to reports, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) is currently conducting a rescue operation at the site.

LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Femi Oke-Osanyitolu, reported that three adult males were recovered dead, while two were rescued alive. Another man was also rescued alive from under the rubble by LASEMA and the Lagos State Fire Service.

“All six men were site workers. The survivors are receiving pre-hospital care on site, and the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) has been contacted to handle the remains of the deceased,” Oke-Osanyitolu confirmed.

This incident adds to the ongoing concern over building collapses in Lagos State and across Nigeria.
