BREAKING: Nigerian Governors Meet In Abuja

BREAKING: Workers Will Get Better Minimum Wage - Governors Declare After Crucial Meeting

Governors from the 36 states of the federation are currently convening in Abuja, the nation’s capital for a crucial meeting.

Under the aegis of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, the state executives are expected to meet at the NGF secretariat in Abuja.

As of the time of this report, some of the governors have started arriving at the meeting venue.

Those already present at the venue are Governors Alex Otti (Abia), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), and Lawal Dauda (Zamfara).

This is as the governors of Enugu, Peter Mbah and Borno States, Babagana Zulum, sent their deputies to represent them.

The agenda of the meeting is currently not made public.

However the governors at the last meeting had promised to give Nigerian workers a fair minimum wage, and this is the first public meeting of the forum since President Bola Tinubu approved a N70,000 minimum wage.

As a forum, the governors are also likely to comment on the raging debate about the planned nationwide protest against bad governance as well as the recent Supreme Court judgement on local government autonomy.
