One of the most important parts in building an electric vehicle is the battery, and the two biggest manufacturers of those batteries are locked in an IP dispute that could make it harder for American automakers to get them. LG claims that SK poached dozens of employees from their battery division in order to obtain their trade secrets. Now President Biden has to decide whether allegations of corporate espionage outweigh delaying America’s race for electric vehicles.
