Top singer Charles Oputa, widely known as Charly Boy, has declared that he will divorce his wife of 47 years if Kamala Harris does not win the upcoming U.S. presidential election.

Following President Joe Biden’s announcement on Sunday that he would step down as the Democratic candidate and endorse Harris as his successor, Charly Boy took to X to express his support.

He stated that after the election of Barack Obama as the first Black male President, America deserves its first Black female President. Charly Boy, who described Harris as his “crush,” insisted that her victory is crucial to him.

In his post, he wrote in Pidgin: “If dis my crush, Kamala Harris no win the USA presidential election, I swear, I go divorce my wife of 47yrs. After the first Black Male President, America deserves the first Black Female President. Sorry rednecks. Dats how we Roll.”

Kamala Harris has not yet been officially nominated as the Democratic candidate, though she has already secured over a quarter of the delegates needed for the nomination, according to The Hill.
