John Williams played ‘Home Alone’s music score on piano for ET, following his Oscar nomination for composing the 1990 holiday classic’s sountrack and its title song, ‘Somewhere in My Memory.’ In this rare interview, Williams shares the backstory of how he signed on just two months before the movie it theaters, where it later grossed nearly $500 million at the box office. The legendary composer also explained why he was excited for the opportunity to write Christmas music, as opposed to his iconic adventure-themed scores for ‘E.T.’ and the ‘Indiana Jones’ franchise.
